Protect silk and bead cord, and strengthen your strand with gimp. Also known as French wire, gimp is a very finely wound coil of wire which is used to cover threads, silks and cords to protect them from wear and tear when used around findings.
This gold coloured gimp wire is size reference D, with an internal diameter of 0.85mm (Size A = thinnest, Size F = thickest).
Supplied in a pack of two 1 metre lengths. Nickel compliant. Please note, the base metal used is copper.
Short lengths are cut to suit and used to cover the ends of strung necklaces or bracelets to give a professional finish.
Used to reinforce bead cord, especially silk thread when in contact with clasps, and to give a finished look to the ends of necklaces and bracelets.
